Eligibility for the Volunteer Responder Plate is determined by the chief of department based on requirements of their individual departments.
The North Dakota Firefighter’s Association is the fire service verification authority for the Volunteer Emergency Responder Plate based off of information provided by the Fire Chief and information entered into the department’s certificate of existence. This information must be updated as needed for NDFA to accurately verify the application.
Each application must be filled out and signed by the chief of department prior to being submitted to the NDFA for verification. Applications can be emailed, faxed or mailed to the NDFA office. Once verified NDFA will return the application in the same manner as received unless other method is requested.
