NDFS – Wildland Fire Reporting System
The fire departments can access the website. The form is exactly similar to the cards that you mail. They do not require any login information. The direct URL is:
http://ndfsdss.ndsu.nodak.edu/PrintTemplates/FireReport.aspx
a) No login is required.
b) All fields denoted with a red asterisk mark are required. The form will not submit information unless all the fields are filled out.
c) The fire dept. staff do not have to enter their Cell Phone number. This is the only field that is not required.
d) It would be ideal to enter a Work Phone number for which you can call to confirm details.
e) Once all fields are entered and all pertinent check boxes checked, they have to press the Submit button and wait for message (in Yellow Highlight) that all details for the incident reported have been successfully submitted (This is paramount). If they do not press submit that information will not be saved even they close their browsers.

Convention 2012 – Williston
The North Dakota Firefighter’s Association Annual State Convention will be held in Williston on June 1 and June 2, 2012. The Williston Fire Department, Williston Convention and Visitor’s Bureau and Community Leaders are hard at work planning this annual event for the Association Members. Emergency Vehicle Operations Course Clarification
I would like to take a few moments to clear up some misinformation that has recently been brought to my attention concerning the Fire Department Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (FD-EVOC). NDFA in partnership with the North Dakota Insurance Reserve Fund created the FD-EVOC course to provide a tool for departments to train their personnel in the safe operations or the large framed vehicles such as Tankers, Engines, Ladders, etc.. Numerous Fire Departments throughout the state have no training program when it comes to these larger vehicles and for many firefighter’s their first exposure to driving these vehicles is when they join a fire department. Another benefit of this course is the endorsement we have received from the ND Highway Patrol. This endorsement provides validation to our program. Raleigh Firefighter’s Share Rollover Experience
I wanted to share this video with all of you if you have not already seen it. This is a great testament of learning from an event and working to prevent it from happening again. Kudos to my brothers and sisters from the Raleigh FD.
